Speedmaster Pro has a horological history matched by very few, but it can be a tough daily wearing watch. For my own personal needs however, the Speedmaster Racing carries over the same lineage, but adjusts in areas that make for a better experience of wearing daily. The 40mm case is easier to wear, the movement is automatic and chronometer-grade, it has a date complication, a higher water resistance level, it comes in a variety of dial colors, and the price is still more palatable than the Pro.
While nothing will ever match Speedy Pro's history and importance to the watch community, the Racing line fits the bill for me in what I need in a watch.
