Re application to my printers, Epson 1430 and 1400
Instruction sheet needs more complete clarification, and separation of instructions as to print head type. Once I figured out what the different "hoses" or "tubes" were for, and the parts of the text that applied to my printer, the kit was useful in unclogging my print head.
After removing the clogged cartridge per instruction sheet, my comments as follows . . . .
1: The unfinished tip of my pipette needed trimming to improve the fit inside my "hose" so that pressure could be applied to the cleaning fluid. I cut the gnarled tip off the pipette with a box cutter so it would fit tightly inside the "hose".
2: The three "hoses" are adapters to allow use of the single size pipette with different size ink cartridge receivers. The "hose" with the smallest inside diameter, when fitted to the end of the pipette, now fits tightly over my 1400 and 1430 cartridge receivers.
3: I fitted just my "hose" to the cartridge receiver and filled it about an inch with cleaner fluid, dripping it in using the pipette. With "hose" preloaded with fluid, insert empty pipette into the "hose" and pump the existing fluid down through the ink nozzle. ( Ink and fluid should come out, and later be visible on the pad you put under the print head with the earlier instructions.) Pumping the empty pipette puts gentle air pressure on the preloaded fluid, if the pipette tip is a good fit with the "hose". If the fluid does not go into the print head the pipette fit needs fixing.
4: After the fluid cleaning procedure, put cartridge(s) back, do a nozzle check and nozzle clean procedures as required. If cleaning fluid did clear clog, a nozzle test will first show clear cleaning fluid, subsequent nozzle tests after nozzle cleanings should show ink flow restored.
