This trap received so many great reviews I couldn’t pass it up when I was looking for a solution to my squirrel problem. Once I bought the bait from the feed store (chicken scratch) I started catching squirrels left and right. 5 at once the very first afternoon. First tip (from the feed store clerk who has 3 traps): make sure you keep a lot of bait in it and place the feed where they can’t grab at it from outside the trap. Second tip: keep the trap in shady areas. Squirrels apparently don’t do well in the sun, even for short time periods. I highly recommend this product and I’m very happy with it. It’s well made, very durable and easy to use.

The Squirrelinator is the only way I have found to get rid of squirrels. I tried poison pellets, netting around my fruit trees and even an AirSoft pellet gun but the rodents kept returning. They bit through the netting and devasted the trees. I finally got the Squirrelinator after watching videos on YouTube. I thought I only had a handful of squirrels coming to my yard but so far I've caught 86 in less than a year. The basin is another story. I read about how they arrived broken. Some people mentioned that they used to have rubber basins but now use thin plastic. Mine arrived with seven cracks in it, rendering it unusable. At least the traps work. I put a handful of peanuts in a corner of the trap and one just inside each gate every morning. The squirrels learn to push the gate and stick their head in for a peanut. After eating the bait they go right back and crawl in for more, unable to get out.Read full review

OK...I had doubts to spend this much, BUT soooo worth it. Not a joke. I'm the biggest skeptic but this trap is AWESOME! fantastic! Got rid of two already and now I'm saving my lawn and flower beds from a ton of holes and dying from exposed roots! Do yourself a favor buy the and make sure you have the tray that usually comes with it (make sure). It helps a lot in removal of the varmint!

I have used the Squirrelinator for several weeks now and have been able to reduce the population to a point where damage is quite low for most days. About 30 have been captured so far. It took a while to find out what would work. Peanuts in the shell laced with apple cider vinegar do the trick for Eastern Fox Tree Squirrels.

I have been trapping squirrels for 25 years using the hav-a-heart I just bought this squirrelinator a month ago and I’ve caught 15 squirrels and five rats. The best trap ever invented. I’m using cheap (full of corn)dog food. Chicken scratch works great too. But dog food has been better for us.
