Tatula fan, but disappointed.
Daiwa Tatula is my reel of choice. I have 4 Tatula CT's. But this reel has let me down. I've been using baitcasters for 45 years. I know how to cast one and how to adjust it. This 100XS just can't be adjusted. First, the tension knob is so small and thin that a man's fingers can't hardly grip it. But more important, it's either completely loose or too tight. there is no in between. I'm very disappointed. Daiwa - you are better than this!!

I love Daiwa reels and this Tatula XS100 is another great one. It feels so small when palming it on a rod. The 8.1:1 speed is perfect for working top water baits to take up slack to get that hookset. You'll love this reel also! Highly recommended.

Great caster!
I currently have spooled this reel up with 10lb fluorocarbon and it casts like a dream! Once you dial the reel in, you will never have to worry about getting another "birds next" ever again. Even though the reel is made in Thailand, it still has the same quality and craftsmanship you expect from a Japanese company and I highly recommend buying this reel.

One of the best reels on the market for the price point. I love the no goof system that makes bait casting such a joy. The brakes, just works! I'm converting mine for use as BFS and I look forward to using it on my BFS rods.
