strong solid
saw is heavy, course w/ 2 batteries, but not in comparison to a worm drive. stops excellently quick, well engineered, of course it's Makita, amazingly small motor, yet Is Strong. narrower blade than I'm used to on regular saws, probably to reduce cut work energy use for battery life. @ 7 1/4" blade standard cut depth. mine did not come w/ a laser sight, would have been nice. Cut a number of test cuts to get familiar with blade placement in relation to the plate guide, so you can know which side of the line you'll be cutting on. Incredible saw
No need for corded saws anymore. Plenty of power, good cutting depth. With decent blade, it cuts as smooth as silk. Stock up on a few extra 5 amp hour batteries though, under heavy usage it will consume battery life. My saw had an unusual chirping noise upon startup, check another saw, same model, did the same thing--guess its normal. All in all, love this saw. The S#!T!!!
Plenty of power to spin the 7 1/4 inch blade threw just about anything. The saw does use up two 3.0 batteries fairly quick. With pretty heavy usage I get about 3 1/2 hours per charge. Makita 36v circular saw
Great saw I had the single 18 volt version and though it was sufficient and light weight for most work this though a few pounds heavier is very powerful. This is professional skill saw uses 2 x 18V batteries ( I would recommend both minimum 4.0 Amp ). It’s little heavy compared to my old 1 battery model but You see the difference when cutting framing lumber. More power and more time running. Great saw
Finally used this saw today on 5/4" treated deck board. It worked like a knife through butter. (It replaced a Makita BSS610 that bogged down on most every job.) I was using my Makita XSH01Z w 2 6.0-amp batteries and the standard framing saw blade.
