Clever, but impossible to clean
We bought these to replace one given to us that was lost, as well as to gift a replacement for someone else. They work well for their intended purpose, great for pickles, olives, or whatever else you want to individually grab out of a tall jar. They do grip well, and rarely drop whatever the item is. Here's my big complaint; you can't clean the inside aside from rinsing. Even soaking in soapy water and rinsing clean eventually doesn't get it clean enough. I have tried rinsing the second it's done being used, and letting sit in soapy water, neither stops a slow build up of grime on the inside of the tube. For a niche use kitchen item that has to touch food, I would rather use a fork that I know I can thoroughly clean when done with.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Once you use one ... you won't want to be without one again.
Got these to replace one that broke after 10 years of daily use (although it still works with just two prongs left). They work great. After having used the stainless and the plastic versions, I can say without a doubt that the plastic ones are the better ones. They have stronger springs and clean better with just a quick rinse under the faucet. Once you use them, you won't want to be without one.
