Early RTR series SD40-2
In the crowded line up of HO SD40-2 models out there, the older run ATH (ATHEARN) RTR loco's are getting long-in-the-tooth. While still having the gold standard DC drive, the details are lacking. Be aware of that when purchasing. Aftermarket hoses, plows and grabs will perk it right up. The paint work is good. The white is fine on this example. Big flaw is the poor fit of the DB blister. This is problematic on a lot of Blue Box/early RTR loco's that had DB & non DB versions. This CP Expo logo version was about half the price of the better detailed, more current run IMRC but that's OK for my layout. A good runner and a good value to me.
