Great Tank for the Value but ONLY for the right expectation
This is an awesome tank for a Crested Gecko but in my honest opinion, ONLY IF YOU HAVE A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT TO EXPECT. First- the tank itself is the typical Exo-terra 2 door tank so I won't review all of the obvious details since you can find that on Exo-Terra website; I will review the "special edition" accessories. The statue/hide looks incredible and it truly is an awesome display/functional piece. That's the positive but to me there's a few HUGE negatives- the built in food tray won't even fit the smaller 1/2 oz disposable cups! That's huge since if you feed repashy/pangea mix like 100% of Crested Gecko owners due, then you have no choice but to pour the mix into the built in food holder. What's the issue with that? THIS MEANS YOU WILL HAVE TO LITERALLY REMOVE THE STATUE EVERY TWO DAYS TO SCRUB IT DOWN/CLEAN IT INSTEAD OF SIMPLY PULLING OUT A DISPOSABLE CUP AND TOSSING IT IN THE GARBAGE CAN AFTER REPLACING! Positive as I said are the cool details in the mayan design but the negative is since it is also a hide and takes up a HUGE amount of the space in the tank- YOU WILL HAVE AN INCREDIBLY HARD TIME ATTEMPTING TO GRAB YOUR GECKO AND REMOVE HIM TO HOLD HIM. HE WILL RUN INTO THE BACK OF IT HIDING AND THERE ISN'T ENOUGH ROOM TO PUT YOUR HAND IN TO REACH DUE TO IT'S SIZE! Now that i've pointed out the major negatives I will say- Do I regret the purchase? NO, I AM VERY HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE. Why would i be happy after stating the above- because I have modified everything for my needs an it works out perfect (for my situation). I've turned it into a live vivarium and plan to post a youtube video with all the details/process and updates. It will house one gecko perfectly but NO MORE THAN ONE- you would need a larger 18x18x24 sized tank. Hope this helps.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
