The contractor I hired used it and he said it worked very well. I bought for him because the first flight of stairs he laminated for me didn't come out perfect. The second flight with the tool came out perfect for sure. I should have made him fix all the bad ones but I only made him redo 3 steps with the new tool. Buy it, you won't regret it. I just hope I can find someone that can use it instead of putting it away and never used again.

Very accurate method for cutting risers and treads. Especially on old warped stairways (see photos). Simple to use. Tips: Mark the 1x2 (not provided) “top” edge with an arrow, so as not to get confused when transferring to your stock. Also use a small level along that top edge to keep everything square/plumb. Don’t over-tighten the thumb screws or you risk breaking the welds.

I'm a DIYer and put oak stair treads on my staircase. This tool made it so quick and easy.

Very similar to the Collins tool gage but has some construction differences. The biggest issue for me was that it's bent which would affect getting a accurate measurement transfer.
