I have not quite finished this book yet, been jumping around in it, alot. However, I find it an easy read, and a compelling look at an actor's life, in the good times and the bad. Stacy Keach tells us his story in such a way that it is easy to feel like Stacy Keach is a personal friend, sitting down with us in our living room, or neighborhood bar, to explain his life and career to us. He has been devoted to his craft since High School, or even childhood. His parents were both actors, his Dad in television and small parts in movies. Stacy knew, early on, the financial and emotional ups and downs, of the ''industry''. His father tried to steer him and his brother James, into Law or another more financially stable career. Still he pursued ahead, with hard work, to follow his dream. The cost sometimes was discouraging, broken marriages, the phone that didn't ring for months with new job offers, parts going to someone else. And finally at mid-career, a dependence on cocaine that got him arrested in London, and the temporary loss of his hit series ''Mike Hammer''. It is an interesting read, by a very hard working and humble, often humorous man. His determination can be an inspiration to all of us, no matter what career or craft were are aspiring to, have faith. Stacy Keach is a very devoted and determined stage, TV, and movie actor, with a continuing career in Shakespearian theater. I am happy that I purchased this autobiography and will tell others to do the same. It is truly refreshing. BobbiRead full review
