Case XX USMC Combat Knife. The best.
I’ve owned several genuine WWII & Vietnam combat knives in the past. I sold them all and bought this Case XX USMC Combat Knife to USE & CARRY. It is of the same quality, corners were cut in the construction, the entire knife & sheath are of quality leather & carbon steel. Since I had the real knives, this Case XX version doesn’t feel like a cheap knock-off! It has the blood groove on both sides of the blade, a stealthy matte finished blade, rich leather handle & sheath. Maybe it wasn’t a military issued knife with a lot of history behind it, but do yourself a favor and issue one to yourself. I feel that the real value of this knife & sheath is in excess of $125,,,,,just my personal opinion of the knife.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice high quality knife.
Don't get me wrong, this is a nice high-quality knife. The only thing I have to say is it does not feel as good as an original MK2 knife. It may be the handle is just slightly smaller and has more contour on both ends of the leather handle. Pride of the Marines, not a "Ka-Bar", but an authentic MK2 reproduction.
A high quality reproduction of the US Navy/Marine Corps Fighting Knife that has been in use for over 75 years. Commonly called the "Ka-Bar" after the knife company that developed it, millions of them were made by other knife companies, such as Camillus and Ontario Knife. Also known as the US Navy MK2, these knives were made famous by the USMC, they were also used by the US Navy in large numbers, especially by Sea Bees, Frogmen, Navy Seals and other landlocked Sailors in need of a fighting knife. The knife was in steady use from WWII through Korea, and Viet Nam. The current version of this knife is still in use and not very different from the original. Early original versions wore a blued steel finish similar firearms. Later during WWII these knives were made with the same, more durable and less expensive, "Parkerized" finish used on wartime firearms. These knives are highly desired by collectors, and prices for originals have skyrocketed. This has prompted many copies, some of better quality than others. Many of them, if not most wear a black powder-coated finish that while more attractive and more durable is not authentic. I was pleasantly surprised to find the Case XX 334 model is finished in a completely authentic GI Parkerized finish just like the originals. The blade is ultra sharp, and the point is sharpened along the top curve, just like many Marines sharpened them for combat. Finally the lettering, just above the hilt is small, so as not to take away from the classic, Bowie inspired, lines of the knife.
