Pretty good kit for the price

Has everything needed to restore the headlights and worked great for me. Took like 15 min a headlight and they look almost like new again. I had used some better masking tape I already had but the tape with the kit would suffice. I’d recommend hand wet sanding If your lights have grooves to make sure ya get it all. Used my drill for the compound polish and foam pad the kit provided. Directions are really simple. I am replacing my front bumper so I didn’t mask off that part around the headlight. But in any other case definitely mask off around the headlight to prevent scratching the paint from sanding the headlights.

Can inexpensively restore headlight lenses but inferior components adversely affect usefulness.

I purchased this lens restoration kit because it was priced significantly below the cost of retail kits sold at auto parts stores. The kit includes all materials necessary to perform the task, however; the inferior quality of the components results in a less than expected result. Instructions are simple but should clearly elucidate that when used in conjunction with a drill or similar device, the included components should be utilized at significantly slower speeds. Given the number of curved surfaces of a headlight lens, it is difficult to follow the contours with a drill or similar device, however that was not the primary issue. While closely following instructions, it became immediately apparent that the cloth backing material of the 3 different grits of sanding discs as well as the applicator sponge were rendered substantially useless before their intended use(s) were completed. Within a very short time, the sanding disc separates from the backing cloth material which results in incomplete sanding as well as undesirable gouges in the plastic lens. Similarly, the sponge applicator used to apply rubbing compound, quickly separates from the backing material rendering it useless prior to completing even one headlight lens. The kit is intended to restore two lenses. The kit did restore clarity in the headlight lenses but the damages inflicted as a result of the inferior components may not be acceptable to most. If I had to do it again, I would purchase the more expensive kits sold at the auto parts stores hoping that similar defects would not occur.

  • What you see is what you get.

Good: The foam applicator for polishing the headlight worked and has held up for one headlight so far. Bad: The sandpaper disks are used up before completing their task. This kit might have been OK for small headlights, but for decades the headlights on imports have had a large surface area. If your lens is only fogged you might be OK, but if discolored like the used vehicle I just purchased. You will end up having to purchase full sheets of sandpaper of the respected grits, a sanding pad and hand sanding ( which really isn't that hard a task) the headlight.

  • Wow, this exceeded my expectations!

I purchased this kit to restore the headmights on my Mazda 3. The kit impressed me with its contents. It Includes 800,1200 and 2000 pads for each lense. It includes a sanding block which is also cleverly a buffing tool. Its basically a buffing tool that fits a standard drill with ergonomics that make it useful by hand. The portions of the polish and Final Step protectant are adiquate to get the job done with a little left over. Watch a youtube video on headlight restoration so that you'll feel confident that you're doing the right thing. The true brilliance of your lenses are realized during the final step where you apply the protectant. My lenses are clear as new and the brilliance of my headlights took me by surprise the night I drove the car. This kit has everything you need to get the job done properly and realize the clarity of new lenses. I cant speak to the longevity of the protestant but I can recommend that you use a protectant film (sold separately) which can be easily removed and replaced if you don't want to perform the restoration process again in a few years.

  • my old faded headlight shine like brand new

Works really good. The instructions say that after you apply the final coat to let it sit out of the Sun and don't let it get wet for 24 hours I would highly recommend you do so. Otherwise they will fade. Great product. It was my fault that it didn't work. I did my wife's car with the same product except that followed the instructions to the T. And hers still look brand new

  • Good product

The amount you get is good for 1 application. Nothing to save for future applications. It does the job and comes with instructions. If it holds for a year or more, it will be a good value.

  • Poor Quality Product

The sand paper pads fell apart during wet sanding. The masking tape was hard to get off and needed a plastic scraper to remove it all. Final step applicator looked great until it dried. It left bubbles on the lenses making it look like condensation inside the headlight. HAD TO START OVER. 2nd attempt was with clear coat paint instead of applicator and turned out great.

  • Good product

Good product . I think the price of the product is expensive. I polished the headlights two weeks ago, everything was fine. If it was possible to give an opinion after at least three months it would have been more reliable.

  • There are better

There are better products and homemade things that can do a better job. I did mine today with this product and I've seen better and cheaper products do a great job. Sorry to say, but waste of my money. Thank you though for a timely efficient product.
