Classic, simple, padded base... works!
This is a simple metal bookend set with a padded base. Painted black, nicely finished, with a foam padded base. I bought it for retaining reel to reel tapes and CDs, but it seems fine for books to a foot high. I tried them to that size from my library. Taller ones are available for oversize books. These are utterly simple bookends doing their job.
