This volume of Beatles' music information is a very worthwhile reading experience. The first few chapters felt a little heavy on Lennon/McCartney bias, but I could have been over reacting...I am a George fan. The book is, overall, a very good analysis and commentary on the music and lyrics of the band, as well as the individual contributions to the instrumental aspect. Mr. Hertsgaard also seems to have some very interesting insight into their thinking and motivations. It was, above all, a very interesting book. I would recommend this to any Beatles fan who is still searching through all of the available information and revelations. This is a respectful and thoughtful volume, and one which will stand as a respectable contribution to the legacy of The Beatles.
