Okay so first to the positive things, the book is for sure the money worth it.
It does not have full step by step guides, it has a few almost full ones, but its more a lot of step by step tips imo. It will give you a better idea on how to draw and color grass, the morning/evening and dawn sky, water and in generel more realistic or more alive backgrounds. it also have some indoor objects, but I found the outside tips a lot more helpful.
I really like the book also show the settings and layers, but remember this is for Photoshop. So you will need to look around a bit more if you are using another program, but it is usable. (I use Procreate only).
To the less positive things, I would not call this a beginner book.
Even though it does show a lot of steps, I will recommend you to find a translating app where you can screenshot the pages. Because you will need it, to really get something out of it. You will get ideas on how to do some things without reading anything, but agian, there is a lot of text about the settings and such.
