I've used this for years then tried some others and came back because it makes my acoustic strings last twice as long as any other brand! Most others just barely run or the top suface of the strings, this being liquid flows around the string for complete protection, plus stays on and makes for smoother chord changes the next time I play, which is every day. I play an alternate guitar once or twice a week to give my main one a rest so I don't wear into the frets as fast and the strings are still coated 3-7 days latter! So I highly recommend it and Sweetwater to buy it from, they are great and helpful and have the best prices by buying 4 or more at a time, saves a lot of money in the long run and they ship super fast!

This liquid actually restores a good deal of old guitar strings' former luster. Just by applying it on the strings without even removing them from the guitar. I put it on some D'Addario 10's that I have been playing daily at home for at least two years on stainless steel frets. The wound strings were totally shot. On the first application I would say they were restored to about 70% of new. A second application brought them up to maybe 80%. Back from the dead. I also took a cloth and wiped the undersides of the strings with a touch of the liquid. That was about it, but I'm very impressed. A little goes a LONG way. Left no stains on my rosewood fret board after wiping off any residue. Next time I change the strings I will apply the liquid periodically and see if it prevents the strings from deteriorating. Meantime, I should get at least another year out of what's on there now, lol. BTW the instructions on the bottle I got from eBay talk about a pump, but there's actually an applicator pad on the mouth of the bottle.Read full review

Been using Dunlop string conditioner for some time now. I absolutely love it. After each session, I coat the strings after a wipe-down of the strings. If your sweaty sweaty hands, put some on the strings before wipe down then reapply after. The strings last noticeably longer between changes. It also gives the strings a silky feel while playing. Great product. I recommend protecting the fingerboard to keep the conditioner off the wood. Great product. Thanks Dunlop!

I find this product useful for electric basses and electric guitars for keeping strings cleaner and brighter, and delaying rust formation. Bass guitar strings can run from $15 to over $40, so this is a worthy investment. Sometimes I will use something else to apply this with, felt or foam pads, as roundwound bass strings tend to wear out the applicator pad very quickly, much more quickly than the thinner guitar strings.
