It is not like the original fiber mat but is cut well to fit perfectly. Looks like aluminized closed cell foam. It is too early to tell if it has the potential for longevity or melts away under some conditions. It is quite expensive for what it is, however I know this made for a very old tractor so is not in heavy demand. Glad to have this. The instructions were vey fine. Not correct size.
