Up-front disclaimer: I did not purchase this for its intended use, but rather for DIY project...so I'm not reviewing it from the perspective of someone buying a Tjernlund BD-4 backdraft damper!
Well, the description indicates "Rubber gaskets for tight seal", and from photos I found on Google Images, I was hoping that that meant there were rubber gaskets beneath the damper itself to tightly seal against backdrafts. Nope: the (four) rubber gaskets are on the outside (the black items visible in the item photo, in two pairs), and the damper leaves close metal-on-metal on an internal ridge. Not airtight.
The photo makes the whole assembly look like a dark colored metal, but it's bright plain galvanized steel. Just a comment.
As a whole, though, it looks like sturdy little unit.
