Very good trunk for the money

The instructions are good for a visual person but do not work well for someone who needs step by step instructions. It would be very helpful to have a template for the holes for the luggage rack. I had to do some real careful work to get those holes correct. Be sure to also get some locktite as none of the nuts are lock nuts and no lock nuts or lock washers are included. All in all if you are a mechanically included person it is good afternoon project. Would be 5 stars with better instructions I was able to mount it to the detachable side plates on my Harley Davidson Switchback using the Harley Davidson 4 bar luggage rack. To make that work I did have to cut one of the brackets so you need a saw for that. The end product looks great and comes on and off the bike very well to so that the Switchback is even more convertible now.

    Ok box

This will require some major fab work to get it mounted on my 2009 Honda VTX 1300. Good thing I know guys at the metal fab shop that can make a plate for me to get it attached to the luggage rack. The latch seems to not catch real well. Perhaps getting it mounted solidly will help with that issue. Update: Got this mounted and the latch is better when mounted solidly. However, the thing rattles and clanks. It really needs a top seal around the lid. I have ordered some U-channel for that. I took off a star from my original review because it requires so much modification to make it useable. Also, it is too small to fit even one full face helmet.

  • Does the trick, holds helmet and gear, and provides the wife a comfortable backrest. No real complaints.

Good Value, you get what you pay for. I got what I expected and I am happy with it. Will hold one full face helmet plus a little extra gear. Wife really likes it, the backrest works great for her, which was the main reason for getting it. Yes, as others have stated, the locking system is really cheap and ineffective, but hell, it's mounted on a quick detach bracket anyway so that's kind of moot. As long as it stays closed, that's all that really matters to me. You will need to lock the lock to make sure it stays closed, if you leave the lock unlocked and the wife leans back on the backrest, it pops the latch open. All in All, yes, I'm happy with it and recommend it. As long as you aren't expecting a HD Quality Tour Pack which sells for ten times the cost of this, you'll be happy as well.

  • Lock the latch or it’ll pop open

An ABS plastic trunk isn’t the most rigid of trunks. Has a good bit of flex and will pop the latch if you don’t lock it. I’m installation was easy enough. Came with 4 holes that didn’t line up to anything on my luggage rack, so I drilled 4 new ones. No holes were provided for the top rack, had to use masking tape and mark for those to be drilled. Don’t expect to just drop this thing on and rip down the road. An hour or 2 of sinking around will be required. Well worth the $60ish I paid. Took one star because of the latch always needing to be locked.

  • Good Value - I like the "duffle bag rack" on top of the trunk lid.

It apears to be worth the money, however Basic installation instructions or at least examples could have been printed up and sold with it (- none were and this was stated in their ad) (Thank goodness for "You-Tube-folks"--- it helped-but not exactly my unit). I was going to get saddle bags for my bike as well, but looking at the size of the trunk space... I might not need to ... I'll try it out on a few trips and see if it meets my needs or if I still need more storage. I have a light cruiser and trying to keep it that way... I did use the 1/2" shipping foam that it came in to make a better trunk pad/liner than the 1/8" little foam cover they included (worked out nice) just put the black liner over top of the Foam.

  • Very good

I'm an old Harley rider key word old my road King is not as comfortable for my wife anymore she needed more back support but I didn't want a big bulky tour pack this box is just the right size not it's not Harley quality but it's not Harley price either had it on awhile now and I'm very happy with more importantly my wife is more comfortable . Yes u can not pick at this product but overall it's just what I wanted looks good latches are not perfect but if u don't abuse them ( act stupid ) they work just fine u can go spend 3-6 hundred at Harley if that's what u choose but for me this box is just as good and cost a bike payment to buy it bottom line YES I would buy again but I don't think I will have to this will last a long time with a little care.

  • Hard to beat for the price

Wanted a little more weather proof space and set out to find luggage for a bike that isn’t all that common and I was very happy to find a decent tour pack with a backrest. My wife is comfortable and the installation wasn’t too hard. I had to modify brackets and it’s not the most solid material, take note it is abs plastic, not fiberglass. If you want rock solid feeling look elsewhere. But good function and decent aesthetics for this price, and a nearly universal configuration? This might be a winner.

  • Downfall...

1 major downfall is the rattling of the lid. The rubber stoppers they have mounted don't do anything. I got some rubber door/window stripping and put it over edge of trunk...snug fit....no rattling at all and probably much more rainproof from water spraying up. For the $...Great Deal...easily mounted. Had to drill different mounting holes in bottom of trunk to align with my rack but that was nothing.

  • Tour pack

I purchased this tour pack because it was cheap in price. Once it was installed I was really surprised how sturdy it is. I had to modify it some for the installation but it wasn't a big deal. It's very roomy and it doesn't rattle when ridding. It's not very thick in its design nor do I think it's completely water proof but for the money and extra space I needed and on a limited budget I'm glad I decided to buy it.

  • Okay trunk. Latch is poor quality and brackets are to short.

The plastic seems durable nut not sure. My issue is the brackets are too short. And the latch doesn't close properly. I know it will not last long. I recommend a more quality latch and two sets of brackets one long and one current size. There's too many backrests to make one bracket. I think two sizes will help most. Drilling is required. I would pay more for quality latch and extra brackets!
