The instructions are good for a visual person but do not work well for someone who needs step by step instructions. It would be very helpful to have a template for the holes for the luggage rack. I had to do some real careful work to get those holes correct. Be sure to also get some locktite as none of the nuts are lock nuts and no lock nuts or lock washers are included. All in all if you are a mechanically included person it is good afternoon project. Would be 5 stars with better instructions I was able to mount it to the detachable side plates on my Harley Davidson Switchback using the Harley Davidson 4 bar luggage rack. To make that work I did have to cut one of the brackets so you need a saw for that. The end product looks great and comes on and off the bike very well to so that the Switchback is even more convertible now.Read full review

This will require some major fab work to get it mounted on my 2009 Honda VTX 1300. Good thing I know guys at the metal fab shop that can make a plate for me to get it attached to the luggage rack. The latch seems to not catch real well. Perhaps getting it mounted solidly will help with that issue. Update: Got this mounted and the latch is better when mounted solidly. However, the thing rattles and clanks. It really needs a top seal around the lid. I have ordered some U-channel for that. I took off a star from my original review because it requires so much modification to make it useable. Also, it is too small to fit even one full face helmet.

Good Value, you get what you pay for. I got what I expected and I am happy with it. Will hold one full face helmet plus a little extra gear. Wife really likes it, the backrest works great for her, which was the main reason for getting it. Yes, as others have stated, the locking system is really cheap and ineffective, but hell, it's mounted on a quick detach bracket anyway so that's kind of moot. As long as it stays closed, that's all that really matters to me. You will need to lock the lock to make sure it stays closed, if you leave the lock unlocked and the wife leans back on the backrest, it pops the latch open. All in All, yes, I'm happy with it and recommend it. As long as you aren't expecting a HD Quality Tour Pack which sells for ten times the cost of this, you'll be happy as well.Read full review

An ABS plastic trunk isn’t the most rigid of trunks. Has a good bit of flex and will pop the latch if you don’t lock it. I’m installation was easy enough. Came with 4 holes that didn’t line up to anything on my luggage rack, so I drilled 4 new ones. No holes were provided for the top rack, had to use masking tape and mark for those to be drilled. Don’t expect to just drop this thing on and rip down the road. An hour or 2 of sinking around will be required. Well worth the $60ish I paid. Took one star because of the latch always needing to be locked.

It apears to be worth the money, however Basic installation instructions or at least examples could have been printed up and sold with it (- none were and this was stated in their ad) (Thank goodness for "You-Tube-folks"--- it helped-but not exactly my unit). I was going to get saddle bags for my bike as well, but looking at the size of the trunk space... I might not need to ... I'll try it out on a few trips and see if it meets my needs or if I still need more storage. I have a light cruiser and trying to keep it that way... I did use the 1/2" shipping foam that it came in to make a better trunk pad/liner than the 1/8" little foam cover they included (worked out nice) just put the black liner over top of the Foam.
