Almost magical...
Ok, so I bought this in order to try to clean the nasty bore on my SVT-40. I can't really say that it did much good. Perhaps it's beyond repair, since I got the rifle with the pitted bore. So that's probably not a fair test. What is a fair test though, is when I put it up against the gorgeous blue finish on my prized Trapdoor Springfield. Wow, truly amazing! No matter how hard I scrubbed, it had absolutely zero affect on the finish on that rifle. Reeeeeal good product!
This is the best rust removing and cleaning item I've ever seen and it is amazing that it doesn't remove the bluing. There is no doubt that who ever invented this product was using there head for something besides a hat rack! GREEEAT AND OUTSTANDING PRODUCT! If you realy want to see how good this product is---find a gun that has a real dirty bore and clean it the old convientual way with a brass bore brush and patch, then look at the bore and then wrap some of this "Big 45 Frontier Metal Bore Cleaner Pad" around the bore brush and run it back down the bore several times --- you will be amazed that it shines like tubbys ass!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Frontier Pads
These pads are AWESOME. I purchased a rusted 22 bolt action rifle for cheap, figuring to make it a "truck" gun. I decided to try and clean it up a little. A friend recommended these Frontier Pads. I followed the instructions in the package (very simple) and I was blown away by the results!!!! Not only did these pads remove every bit of rust on the barreled action and bolt but, there was no damage at all to the factory bluing. The little 22 turned out beautiful. Great for deep rust removal
I was needing this when I came across some guns in storage that needed more than steel wool to remove some rust. I'd used one of these pads years ago but didn't have one. They work great at removing the deeper rust. I suggest buying two so you have one later when you might need it again. The pads do hold up pretty well to aggressive use in removing rust. Tried this on a k98 mauser I just picked up bore was really grungy , I had already use several different bore solvents and brushes still rough feeling and looking. Cleans lead fast!
