Current customers of T-Mobile can transfer their existing micro-SIM card into the Lumia 521, which can make the upgrade process as simple as possible. The Windows 8 mobile operating system allows you to connect to email, the internet, and a variety of smartphone applications. Although the phone is pre loaded with a variety of apps from Microsoft and Nokia, additional apps are available from Windows. The phone's 8GB of memory is supported by 512MB of RAM and a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor. This can make streaming videos, surfing the web, and sharing photos a quick and easy process. The phone has a slot for a microSD card under the battery cover, which allows you to install an additional 64G. The battery cover is removed by applying slight pressure at one corner of the phone, offering easy access to the battery, the SIM card, and the microSD card. As a T-Mobile 4G LTE device, it can be easy to get top internet download speeds when out and about. Settings allow the phone to connect to wireless networks at home when available. It also offers a variety of helpful, everyday tools including Wi-Fi calling, a built-in GPS, talk to text, geotagging, and visual voicemail. This Nokia Lumia 521 features a matte, white polycarbonate shell. The wrap around style of the battery cover creates rounded edges, so you can always have a conformable grip. Buttons for power, volume, and camera are on the right side of the mobile phone, but you will also find a headphone jack on top and a power port on the bottom. Nokia Lumina 521 sucks
I do not like this phone. As soon as I can, I will ditch it for an Android phone. The on/off switch wore out quickly & I had to use the camera function to turn it on & off. It caused the battery to wear out quickly & costs $33 to replace it. The charger wore out quickly & I am now on my 3rd charger & they're over $13 each. Nokia customer service is poor and it's obvious they have little regard for their customers. Most app engineers & designers don't like or want to be bothered with the Windows platform, so availability off apps is limited. This phone has been discontinued, so that also tells us that Windows & Nokia know it's a cheap piece of junk. It is constantly rebooting right in the middle of reading an internet article, even after a recent upgrade that was supposed to have fixed the problem. This phone has been such a problem that I no longer want to have anything to do with Windows. They should have replaced these phones with ones that work properly. I no longer trust Nokia or Windows. Cute first phone
Pros: Perfect for kids, Windows has excellent parental controls so I can keep both eyes on my kids' activity. Good charge life. Cons: the os; I love you Windows, but the interface is just....No. Also, ya can't shut it off, if it has any charge, it is on. Shutting it down only restarts it. open the windows phone, and there's plenty to see
Instead of round dots for apps, there are square tiles that you can move wherever you want them, and change the size and the color. Instead of having different screens with different apps, there is the one main screen with all your favorite apps in the size and position you like them in. Then just scroll down to get to all the apps on the page. A swipe the the left reveals all the apps in alphabetical order, and from here you can launch them, delete them,share them or write a review. However there are not as many apps for windows, and some of the newest apps may not be available, but I find way more apps than I can use and find everything that I am looking for. Also you can write and store things in the cloud then pull them up on your PC 💻.
