PTO extension did as needed.
I bought a used finish mower and the PTO shaft with it was so far extended that it separated a few times. The shaft only needed 3” or so of overlap to be fictional. This extension corrected the issue. I applied grease to both the male and female ends, put it between my finish mower gear box and the PTO shaft and went to work. No issues!
