Works great, would recommend.
Had to replace my tailgate, didn't change out the manual lock. Could not lock the tailgate. This was an inexpensive fix and much better than using the key. Watch a video online for installation. I could not get the bracket into the correct position due to a support in the tailgate. Works great but may need professional help installing
The Pop and Lock PL8250 Power Tailgate Lock is a great addition to my 2012 Ford F350. With the Pop and Lock you never have to wonder if the tailgate is locked or not. it is well made and works as it should. I was very disappointed in the lack of installation instructions. Though most of the install is pretty straight forward, finding the proper vehicle wiring to hook the Pop and Lock into is not so easy.There seemed to be little help when it came to that final hookup. now I have a rear driver door that will only power lock and unlock when the door is open. I will have to do more troubleshooting or possibly have a pro look at it. I'm not hating on the Pop and Lock, but would prefer better install instructions.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Product / Easy Install
As so many others have stated, truck manufacturers should have made this a standard function on their trucks. Since they didn't, this product is heaven sent. Installation was a breeze with the hardest part being routing the cable to the front of the truck (wired mine on front passenger side). I have the step on my tailgate so I had to think a little harder so I didn't have to remove the brace. I carefully slid the device in upside down and backwards starting at the latch area and flipped it over once I got it in. The instructions listed the correct wire colors for my 2011 Platinum because I got the right connection on the first try (Blue wire to purple/gray striped wire and Green wire to gray/brown striped wire). Please note that both wires have to be attached before it will function (you can't hook one wire and test it). Everything is functioning perfectly. I guess time will tell if this product is built to last. I am pleased with this device thus far and highly recommend it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great accessory to add!
Easy to install except for the wiring part. Not difficult, just time consuming fishing the wires thru the frame and body. But after bolting the solenoid assy to the tailgate there was a lot of vibration when closing the tailgate. I ended up using some large zip ties and rubber strips to secure it tightly to the tailgate inner panel. Also, it is very loud when operating compared to the door locks...but it's still a great accessory to add to your truck!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This is a great kit ez to install. Just follow the instructions. When you drill the hole be sure to paint it. Install a rubber grommet. I use windshield sealant because its noncorrosive to seal the wires. About 1 hr to do this job.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This is a good addition to help slow a tailgate thief. I have this in addition to a lock over the bottom of tailgate.
