It's easy to install the mechanical mechanism, however, the wiring takes a pro. Instructions recommend running the wire from tailgate to under hood by running it under the vehicle. That's ok, but if you are 78 years old, that is no good. Then it tells you to connect the wires at the left kick
plate, but don't mention how to get into that zone. Me, I am just going to construct a two relay switching system, mount the switches in the rear by the tailgate and let that do.....
But the Pop and Lock system is still a good buy and will work great........soon......

Install was very straight forward and easy. Installed lock unit in tailgate and fished the wires down the left side of the tailgate. I opted to run the long harness under the bed of the truck, then into the cab vent on the lower left side in the very rear of the cab. I hid the wires under the mouldings, and used the scotch locks (green on unit to thick gray on truck and blue on unit to thick tan on truck) wires to connect to the factory wiring right at the drivers seat sill plate. Install took about an hour and works flawlessly.
