Bought this as a replacement for a Manfrotto monopod and identical head which was stolen recently. This head works as it should and provides a solid attachment to the monopod. It is also relatively small and light. A few minor quibbles: a small circular bubble level built into the camera locking handle and support for 3/8" camera threads (not just 1/4") would be handy & would earn 5 stars.

My need is for a tripod head for my spotting scope with a single axis of adjustment and the 3229 fits the bill without unnecessary size or weight. The quick detach mechanism works well and includes a safety latch that can prevent an accidental release. All in all this is a solid tripod head that fits my application well.
