After a number of unsatisfying attempts to make the device work: hook up was easy, however the device would not connect to my wireless network. Call to Samsung revealed that unit needed it`s firmware updated; was sent a link, which I was unable to download to device. After many futile attempts and calls (Samsung), was sent a disc. The disc downloaded and all seemed to be well but the device would still not connect to my wireless network. I replaced my router with one more conducive to streaming.......still no luck. Finally after more calls a tech walked me through re-booting. The player is working, recognizes network after considerable frustration.
My purchasing experience was pretty great, I selected, ordered, paid and it arrived several days early. The device was EASY to set up, the playback is sharp and clear. The remote is pretty smooth and you don't have to have perfect line of sight with the Blu-ray player to operate it (like my previous LG one). The Blu-ray loads up quick (as does the DVD) and it's quiet. The apps downloaded pretty quick and it has the major ones that I like (Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, etc.) I'm simply VERY PLEASED with this and the price was right at $75 delivered. What a great buy!
I used an Ethernet cable rather than wifi, but it works very well. Set up was easy; my existing Amazon prime app installed with no difficulties. I have had no reloading at all. The fast forward and pause buttons on the remote are a little small.
Nice unit, if you are buying it used make sure you reset the Smart Hub ( default password is 0000 ) Then go into the settings, set up the internet and then go to support and run the update. I had some issues with mine until I did both of those things. After that all the apps started working great.
