- Activision's phenomenally successful first-person shooter series returns with overhauled multiplayer modes and a story that finds the United States fighting as an underdog rather than a superpower in Call of Duty: Ghosts. Set ten years after a renegade group known as The Federation hacked a powerful space station and kinetically bombarded the globe, Ghosts find players taking control of a group of elite former special forces soldiers as they engage in guerilla warfare, stealth operations, and tactical assaults in an attempt to destroy The Federation and take back America.
With the country's infrastructure in shambles, soldiers are forced to fight small-scale battles against The Federation, which is now a super-powered collection of former South American countries propped up by Venezuelan oil money. The group includes brothers Logan and David "Hesh" Walker, Booth, Neptune, the Navy SEAL commander Merrick, and even Riley, a trained German Shepherd. Missions find them battling across the war-torn remnants of the United States, under water, and even in outer space, all in an attempt to hack into The Federation's own space station and kill its leaders Almagro and Rorke.
Call of Duty's massively popular online modes have been altered and updated in a number of new ways in Ghosts, including a greater number of character customization options, new perks and kill streaks, destructible map environments, new game modes, and the new squad system. Players can choose from more than 20,000 customization options when designing their character, including the ability to make a female soldier for the first time. There are more than 20 new kill streak rewards, including unlocking a cat-quick Juggernaut Maniac, or calling in Riley to attack nearby enemies, while the revamped perks system assigns a point value of between one and five for each weapon and perk, and lets gamers use 12 points in any way they please.
During the course of multiplayer battles the environments can change in a variety of ways, from small traps being triggered to entire buildings collapsing, and a host of new contextual movements lets players lean around corners, quickly vault over objects, and slide on their knees. In addition to earning XP as they level up, gamers also earn new squad points which can be used to unlock new weapons and add squad members. Squads can then be used in a variety of new co-op and competitive modes, and team members can be used by other squads to earn XP even when the system is turned off. Traditional multiplayer action gets a few new modes as well, including the fast-paced and explosive Cranked mode, the bomb-planting action of Search & Rescue, and Blitz, in which players merely need to reach a small zone in enemy territory to earn points.

Good Game (Some Assembly Required)- brought to you by Ikea. lol
I rented this game before i bought it, to clear up some doubts I had about it. It is strange, I really enjoy the multi-player of this game; but there are somethings that bug me that I cannot put my finger on. The menus are rather clumsy, but the perk system is ingenious; although some of the perks are extremely split up, meaning they used to be combined into a more useful one slot perk.I was extremely disappointed by the lack-luster armory. There are minimal secondary weapons, and they added a new class called "Marksman Rifles." This was a huge mistake! They fire like a pistol, handle like an assault rifle, and have the power of a sniper rifle. So needless to say, noobs spam the hell out of it. The maps are generally large compared to previous titles, which I really enjoyed. It seems that they wanted to increase customization; But rather than an overall increase, it seems to have just switched from custom weapons to custom characters. Which is a pretty big failure. I'm also annoyed by the limited emblem customization, all you get are pre-designed patches that come with their own label. So in the end, I liked it; but I highly recommend you rent it first.Read full review

Good for older or more grownup kids
Do not buy for young kids under 12 to 13 could cause nightmares fine with older kids.Turn volume off on some of these games can have bad language .

Sharp game, nice addition to the COD lineup!
Excellent game and one of the last real human beings running around COD games too, most of them now involve jet packs and impossible movements. An excellent "run & gun" game and one of the last non-jet pack COD games. A great value too, you really get your money's worth from it as the multiplayer option is fantastic and the guns are realistic in handling and operation. Thanks Treyarch!

Campaign was fun and new. But I prefer older COD MP games.
Why did I buy this product? It was on sale, factory sealed/brand new for $19.99. Pros: -Campaigns atmosphere, gameplay & storyline was very new. -MP: New weapons added (very detailed). -MP: Maps are surprisingly big, ie: Stonehaven. -MP: Improved Character customization. -MP: 10 Characters, 1 unlocked & 9 locked. -MP: Each Character has 3 unlocked & 4 locked loudouts. -MP: 2 types of scorestreak (previously known as killstreak). I could go further but I have only played several hours. Cons: Where to begin? A lot of what I loved in previous COD games has been either taken out or altered in Ghosts. -Lagging is still common. Not sure if someone is deliberately lag switching? -Interruption Connection is still common. -Some spots in the maps have frame rate drops. -Most map layouts is geared towards "run & gun" playing style. -Ghosts reward very little gold points per game. -Hacking Perk is removed. -Can't change carepackage. -RPG was replaced with Panzerfaust. -Unlike RPG ADS, Panzerfaust sight takes up the whole screen. -No claymores or Bouncing Betty (replaced by IED) -IED doesn't kill (useless equipment) I haven't played Extinction, nor want too. So I'm not rating it. How does this product compare to others? I only played for several hours, but from what I experienced in MP. I prefer Black Ops 2 and before COD games.Read full review
