Good product so far, reasonable price.
Used these shifters to replace twist grips on my mountain bike. The twist grips were almost impossible to twist, these make shifting a lot easier. I had forgotten about these, I had a mountain bike with this type of shifters 20 years ago, and never had any problem with them, so it should have been a no brainer. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it comes with no instructions, and you don't really need them, but one cable is longer than the other, and I had them installed before I realised the cable would not reach the back shifter, so I had to take them back off. Only other minor issue is there is no tension adjustment, and the spring on my front deraileur will sometimes make it move just a little, not enough to pop out of gear, but every-now-and-then I have to nudge it back over so the chain doesn't make noise rubbing on it, but very minor issues...Over-all they've made my bike much more enjoyable.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Old school, but works great.
I converted my high end Klein Quantum road bike to an upright (neck and arthritis problems). No indexed-shifter would work well with my triple-chainring. Although these friction shifters come as a pair, I only used the left one (chainring), and it works perfectly, even better than my Ultegra STI did. Not the most attractive, but who cares? Ideal Solution
Ever since replacing the worn-out cassette on my old hybrid bike, the index shifting hasn't worked right. Probably the new cassette was incompatible or something like that. I never liked index shifting anyway, and these inexpensive friction shifters provided a quick and easy replacement for my rear grip-twist rear shifter. The really great thing about them is they're adaptable to numerous situations you might have and will work well with various drive train setups. Ideal replacement for broken index shifters
I repair used bicycles for an annual Christmas Baskets charity drive, and we often receive bikes with non-functional indexed shifters, such as the Shimano RapidFire. Good for simplicity
I replaced my "never really worked from day one" grip shifters with these old school thumb shifters. These work. Are they as good as Shimano or Suntour? Well, no....but you also get them for a 10th of the price. I like them. I have these shifters on my 20 year old Haro mountain bike and my new recumbent.
