Purchased w/o stakes. Made water retention rings to go around newly planted shrubs. Made perfectly circular rings & was easy to install after a little planning & using only a hacksaw, a drill, a screw driver & a rubber mallet. The edging material cut very easily with a hack saw after predetermining the length needed for the ring PLUS a little overlap. The overlap provided the place to drill and secure the ring with a screw & nut. Made sense to put the overlap in the rear when positioning around the plant. The material blends well with surroundings and makes no attempt to be decorative or attract attention. The 4" width allowed me to "bury" the ring 2", leaving a 2" retainer around the shrub. It took me longer to type this than to do this. Not really, but I am very happy with my results. If I had not been doing rings, however, I would have needed the stakes that are often sold separately.Read full review

Excellent Product. I installed it as a separator between my curved pavers - and my Lawn. The 4" height is enough to protect the powder bed of the pavers (from coming out). The brown color gives a very nice sharp line which is a lot better on the eyes than the cement edge I had. I am now going to continue this project on the rest of my yard where I have pavers. Definitely Recommend this product !!

I installed it as per the instructions but after the weather warmed up it looks all wavy. I think the material is too thin to maintain a uniform shape. Needless to say, it's the first thing anyone notices in my garden.
