Vortex 30mm Tactical Rings Medium
Nice solid set of rings. You will want to lap these if you are using them to mount a scope because they do have some high spots. Made in China. They are a littler heavier than the weaver tacticals. If mounting on a bolt action rifle, the mediums would easily handle a 50mm objective on top of a sporter type barrel. I have at least 5/8" clearance using a 44mm Viper. If going on a bull barrel or flat top receiver then mediums for a 42-44mm bell is probably the way to go.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Step up if using a large caliber...
Excellent for my 223. If you're needing rings for large calibers purchase Vortexs next step up. Vortex always turns out a great quality item no matter what it is. Always consider caliber of gun you're setting up. Don't go cheap but you don't have to go overboard. Vortex has a good variety and they are great about answering any questions and suggesting what will fit you're needs. Call them or email them. I was looking for a new set of rings for my savage 10 fcp le. I added a 20mm scope rail and was looking to replace my TMS rings with better quality rings. The Vortex Tactical rings arrived and were on my rifle in minutes. The quality of the rings was apparent right out of the packaging. They were machined perfectly and looked like $100.00 dollar rings. The proof came in the performance with the new rings and 20mm rail the savage was averaging .38 inch at 100 yards with my pet handloads. Many groups were well below . 38. I know the 10 fcp is an amazing rifle but it is only as good as the sum of its optics and mounts. I would recommend these rings to my mother. Excellent says it all. These rings were a bit high mounting a vortex viper hs 4.5-14x44 with 30mm tube to my Tikka T3 but are of excellent quality. I probably could have used the low rings and still had clearance for the objective.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Why not sold in pairs?
These rings work well and provide adequate clearance for 50 mm or 56mm objective scopes. They fit well and have a good satin finish. The 3 screw retention for the ring halves will hold the highest recoil . My only gripe is they should be sold in pairs not singles. Who buys just one scope ring?Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
