There aren't many gloves I would recommend for winter fly fishing. I have tried 3 fingerless varieties: neoprene, wool and fleece (from which I removed 2 finger tips and half a thumb - they were just OK - until wet). The secret is dry and dextrous - something these gloves offer. There may be better gloves out there but they will cost a bundle and may not perform as well. These go up inside my storm-cuffed fly fishing rain jacket and allow me to handle a fly line to the point where I can cast. In 17 degree weather. I'm sold. Some things come late in life (I'm 71) but better late than never!
