Just what I needed
Original equipment which arrived quickly and well packed. This should have been installed when our outdoor unit was replaced some years ago. We have a very long pipe run which was probably the cause of the start capacitor failing about every other year. It also turned out that this cap had been the wrong value, probably after the first replacement with what the serviceman had on the truck. I'd replaced it with the same value several times and didn't discover the discrepancy until finally finding the Carrier parts web site. I replaced the original with the correct value and added this kit. We'll see if it works like the manufacturer says it should. This fits existing locations in our 3.5 ton Rheem, but I drilled an additional hole to allow a pin on the relay mounting to engage (it requires a specific orientation).
