Defense! Defense!
The Otter Box Defender is one of my critical tools as a facilities mechanic. When the company issued an iPhone to me, I was sure I would break it. 3 1/2 years later, I've never had a problem. The Defender Case is incredible, a little bulky to carry in your pocket, but the holster belt clip keeps it handy on your side. Now, I have broken the holster belt clip twice in three years. But I'm climbing in, on, and around equipment, on roofs, in crawl spaces, you name it. Every once in a while it will get caught on something in a tight space. Good protection cheap poorly designed belt clip.
The Otterbox Defender case is just that a defensive case that not only protects the back and sides but also the screen. The design incorporates a built in screen protector and every phone I have put these cases into survived A LOT of abuse with no harm to the phone. Now that the case review is out of the way I have to mention the bad. The belt clip/holster is of a design that gives false impressions of security because before long the clip will break. I urge you when you buy this, and I do recommend this case as I have found no equal in protection, to buy an additional holster or like me buy two.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I had one of these for my old 4s. It provided great protection. This one is for an in-law that regularly manages to kill her iPhone. It is a very sturdy case, so it adds a bit of size to the phone, but it protects from bumps and short drops. And while not waterproof, it does protect some from water spray and moisture.
