Performance is great. Prints, copies and scans. One exception. Out of the box, first level of instructions on separate card gives instructions to follow. DO NOT. Those instructions lead to a site that wants to charge you for maintaining updated files. Stay away. Go directly to Canon system files support for files. Install. When you want to scan directly to computer, you must actually select the "scanner printer" selection (like printing to a pdf file) from printer settings. Once you figure that out your ok. Yes it does come with black and color ink.
