On my first try I thought I forgot to put a blade in, it was that smooth. It shaved quickly with no cuts or razor burn, leaving my skin smoother than ever. Despite being plastic it feels like a quality piece of equipment and I am delighted. After researching razor blade prices I found I can buy 50 blades for about £3.59. That works out 1p per day to get a superb shave. Anyone New to this type of shaving would not go wrong with this razor. Absolutely great !

A good starter product for double edge shaving which is very mild and unlikely to cause many cuts. It won't give as close as shave as the more expensive razors.

I purchased this razor as an economic stop-gap as my "top quality" German made Merkur fell apart after 4 years of use and wanted time to research a suitable replacement. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and feel of the razor which weighs in at 43.5g. It required me to adapt my shaving technique slightly from what I was using with the Merkur and after a few shaves I had mastered it. I am now getting a good, close shave putting the way more expensive Merkur to shame. I have not used the Wilkinson Sword blades supplied yet as I am using up my supply of Super Max Blue Diamonds first. I highly recommend this razor and please do not be put off by the low price. This is now my razor of choice and I splashed out on a second one to keep as a spare.

After years of using a fusion and soap in a can, I'm a new convert to a traditional razor and it is the best shave I've ever had. Need to use either a shaving cream or traditional shaving soap to get the best shave. I'll never go back to newer blades. The cost is excellent as is the cost of replacement blades. Couldn't recommend this more. Give it a try.

Although the razor is plastic it is solid and gives perfect blade alignment. I have several more expensive razors but this is my favourite. I use it as a daily shaver. It is an extremely mild shaver and so is probably not suitable for tackling heavy beard growth. With a little respect and care, it should last for a few years. It is a shame that there is not an affordable metal version available. However, on the strength of the qualities of this razor, I will probably by a Feather AS-D2.
