Don't pay full price for this. Still a solid portable drive, but I only got around 500MB/s write in contrast to the advertised 1000MB/s. Maybe burst speed is up there, but not prolonged writes.Transferred data from an internal NVMe drive over USB C 3.2 Gen 2. Tiny and reliable. No qualms so far. TLC 3D NAND, no DRAM.

Samsung makes very good memory devices including this SSD portable drive. The drive under review is small in size and very fast when reading or writing files. I use that drive as a backup medium and as a storage for thousands of pictures which I accumulated over many years. Technology always progresses and what was great yesterday may be only OK tomorrow. For that reason it is important not to overpay for a good product. The market is very competitive. Before buying a drive, check all the obvious sites for the latest prices. Good luck !
