Item works great but their are some flaws to it that can be overlooked.
Liked the length of the blade, although a sheath would have been nice to have. The item does not have an automatic power on feature which is good for me, but I can see how others would want it so they don't have to continously hold the on button in for power even though it is a safety feature. I have yet to see any corded item that actually holds the cord in place so the electricity stay on and that is a downfall with this item, but that is not a big deal.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Light weight, but, optimistic on cutting diameter.
Pros: Light weight, cuts on both sides of the blade. Good value for someone that will not put too much stress on it , and not try to cut anything over 1/2". Cons: Will not cut Stems/branches 3/4". The slot in the stationary blade will allow a 3/4" branch, but the moveable cutting blade is only 1/2". So regardless of the advertising, it's capacity is 1/2". If you keep pushing on a larger than 1/2" stem it will eventually "Chew" it off leaving a very jagged edge on the stem, and taking a lot of time. Just shut it off and cut the large stem with a pair of hand pruners, then finish with the trimmer. For normal light work it is ideal, but for heading back old overgrown shrubs you will need a loper as a accessory. I used to own a 30" Little Wonder trimmer that had two reciprocating blades, and would cut anything up to 1/2" with ease, and fast. Also, the cord holding feature will not work on 10 AWG extension cords. Minor problem just tape it to the handle. Bottom line: Great for a home owner that will use it maybe two times a year, and not cutting thick stems. (recommended)Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Cutting Bar Safety Shield falls off during use
Works well save for the the very poor quality cutting bar safety shield, which is just a snap-on mount and falls off every few minutes. Very annoying, and takes away from the otherwise efficient operation of the unit. My previous Black & Decker electric Hedge Trimmer had the safety shield mounted with screws to the unit housing allowing continuous operation with no problems. This unit has been cheapened in the manufacturing process and probably the only solution is to glue the shield to the trimmer housing.
