I use this keyboard for my TV/Computer/Gaming setup. I had a K400 which is rated highly in some circles but was never all that impressed with it. It suffered interference issues at about 10 feet from the dongle, the touch pad was twitchy, hard to control, and I really needed a board that lit up in the usually dark setting I used it in. So, after suffering with the K400 for over a year I finally decided to look for something better. I am very happy with the K830. Though the K400 was OK. The K830 has a much better build quality. It is better in every respect compared to the K400. Much better touch screen, connectivity is much better, keystroke feel is superior and I really appreciate the lighted keys. The left hand click button is also a handy addition. The only thing you really need to think about is, do you want to spend the additional money on the K830? For me, I'm glad I did.Read full review

This is a solid 'board if you NEED a trackpad. Otherwise, the K800 blows this out of the water. I have owned my K800 for over 6 years(for a bargain at $100+, but is now available new for $30-$40) and it still feels better than this K830. Also, the K800 features auto luminescence and will sense when your hands approach; this [K830] requires a keystroke or trackpad movement to illuminate the keys. The k800 also has better build quality. If you have an HTPC it will provide you with a much nicer presentation. I also wish this had a little more heft to it. It just feels cheap and the power button rattles when shaken. Just a nitpick, but hopefully it gives you an idea of the quality. Also, the Caps Lock key only partially illuminates, which makes it look exceptionally chintzy and low grade. Buy the K800 and don't look back. Read full review

I really love the way this keyboard feels. From the weight of this, it feels solid, not cheap. I love the color and the size as well. The backlit keys are a great feature. The best thing to me about this product is the feel of the keys as you type! I wish every keyboard that I use had the same feel and texture as this. It makes me want to be a writer or review something just so I can type on it... quite satisfying. The soft click, the level of depression and the pressure needed to engage the keys feels good. I have worked on some keyboards/laptops that are so flat, seamless and soft that you almost don't know they're there. For me it's too easy to make a typo when I can't even feel the keys. This keyboard has also allowed me to use my big 42" smart tv as my computer. I enjoy reading my emails and watching YouTube or anything online so big and clear from the comfort of my couch!!! The mouse pad on this is quite nice as well. Read full review

This keyboard is a great all in one keyboard and trackpad, with lighted keys. Unfortunately Logitech for some reason discontinued this keyboard. This make no sense to me that they would discontinue a product that is such a good tool for people that use it for home theater and using a computer in low light. I use mine for my home theater and using my TV as a monitor. It is nice to have all in one without a mouse when sitting in my chair. The lighted keyboard is great because I usually use it when there is very little light in the room. Logitech should really rethink their decision in discontinuing this keyboard.

This keyboard is amazing! This is the home theater version of the K800, and it hits the mark. I've tried multiple keyboards including a couple of K400 series and a few wireless desktop units as well. This one provides solid connectivity where all the others have failed. The backlight isn't automatic like the K800, but for its intended purpose, that's beneficial. Unlike the auto-sensing desktop keyboard, this 800 series requires touch (pad or key) in order to illuminate. It also has two fixed settings for the brightness instead of auto-sensing. The keyboard, being only a 90% board, still feels natural to type with. The keys are sturdy and the overall feel is solid. The track pad also glides more smoothly and is more responsive than the 400 series boards. It's by far the most I've ever paid for a keyboard, and for the purpose it serves, I would buy it again!Read full review

Replaced another K830 I had which had a bad micro usb connector for charging due to a minor accidental stress caused by me using it while it was being charged. You cannot replace the battery, so I had to replace it. Turned out to be a good thing, because the previous one which I had bought used wouldn't pair via bluetooth, so I had to use the usb wifi dongle. which was fine so I didn't return it. My laptop paired with the new one, no problem. I think the bluetooth operation is easier on the battery, but now I don't have to worry about the dongle. Best reason to buy it is the lighted keyboard.

It's a nice tactile experience, like a laptop's keyboard, and the fact that the keys get illuminated is a great plus. There's only a couple of things I don't personally like: the texture finish is prone to fingerprints and smudges, the FN part of the keys don't get illuminated, and the ambient light sensor doesn't seem to work very well -but this last detail is just a small complain that can be easily overridden with a manual illumination control key (next to the 'esc' key).. other than that it's perfect, the battery seems to last a lot and can be recharged while using the keyboard

Limited range, NOT the 30-ft range expected from Bluetooth. EXACTLY 8ft is my limit. I have to keep the keyboard on my knees instead of my lap. If I have it on my lap, the signal doesn't reach. I'm constantly going back to my other Logitech keyboard (an Edge). But my Edge keyboard has a mouse button missing, the whole reason I got the new keyboard.

Hard to set up, I had to use a regular keyboard and mouse plus download two installation files to get it to work. Touch pad illumination and right/left keys have no lighting. I would say it is very little better than the k400 at twice the price. Works about as well as the k400, just lite a bit.

Outstanding keyboard with well lighted keys and very easy to use over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
