Easier than pounding meat, white guard is useless as is the "meat guide" metal thing. White guard piece limits size of meat that will fit and it doesn't lock in place, it just sort of sits there. I used it for some round steak. Will probably be ok for boneless pork chops, too, if not too thick. When it says 1/2 inch thickness max.......you better believe it!

This tenderizer is a bit smaller then I expected but truthfully is everything that the description says it is. It is limited to cuts .5 thick but does a great job tenderizing and stretching. I have used it on beef, pork and conch. My one and only complaint is that the clamp does not open wide enough to fit my counter, problem solved by switching counters.

I do like this tenderizer, actually this one I purchased as a gift. I am, however, disheartened in the term "Cast Iron" when in fact the rollers are a high grade plastic. Also, I have to use a board to clasp the unit on, as my cabinets are too thick for the space available for the clamp.
