I bought the antenna based upon others’ mostly positive reviews. It is pricey, but I wanted to maximize my reception. Installation was easy — there was an existing small hole it the ceiling of my laundry room and I just slid the mast up through it and mounting was easy. I decided on this installation because: 1) I didn’t want to mount it outdoors, 2) my attic might not be tall enough to allow full antenna length, and 3) I had sometimes had squirrels in my attic and I didn’t want the to chew the antenna coil or cable. There was improvement in reception but it was slight. The reception of strong stations was stronger; the reception of fuzzy stations improved. But there are stations I can receive in my car that I still can’t get on my stereo. Tuner is an old Fisher with 1.9 microvolts sensitivity, so it should be capable of pulling in stations. This antenna is too expensive for the slight improvement in reception. I would have been money ahead just using rabbit ears.Read full review

I have yet to mount the antenna on the exterior of my house. So, currently, the ST-2 antenna is hanging upside down (this doesn't matter to reception) in a closet on the second story of my house. However, this location is next to a window, high, and probably not very far from where the antenna will be mounted. Our house is located on a ridge with little to block signal reception nearby. I find I receive clear signals from many 40 to 50 miles distant transmitters.

My home is in a bit of a swale were my antenna reception is blocked by higher ground, other houses and many tall trees and my reception was very limited only being able to pull in the strongest stations. I heard that this was one of the best out there and decided to purchase one. WOW it pulls in so many more stations now and pulls them in and locks them down - very clean sound with no drift. Excellent if you DX searching for distant stations. A good investment in clean sound.

I had a 7' long yagi style antenna which had blown down. I live on the coast with high winds. I didn't want to mess with a large antenna again so I bought the ST-2 . I mounted it on top of the old mast. It turned out that the reception is as good or better for the stations within 30 miles. The yagi did have the advantage with the long distance stations if it was aimed at them. For me this antenna is great and I don't have to worry about guy wires and high winds any more.

I live on the other side of an non active volcano from the radio stations. One of them i couldnt even get . Now they are all there with my mcintosh mr78. After the wife went to work all i did was listen to radio like I’ve never heard it before. The st-2 is standing in the corner behind my jbl L7 ! I was going to put it on the roof but why risk the lightning strikes. .. i wonder if i can put one on my camper for in the sticks ?..
