  • $1500 Level Quality/Performance Cartridge for $300

A difference between night and day; My 1st experience with a moving coil cartridge and I was seriously WOWed. It was like I was sitting in the middle of the Miles Davis group, piano on one side his horn on another the bass over in the corner and drums in another. I could hear every note they played clearly. I liked it so much, I went out and bought a Rega PL10 with an Aphelion cartridge. Again a big difference, but not enough to rate the big cost difference. The Denon caused me to have to re-record all my tapes and deep clean my LPs. Down-side, it takes about 20-30 hours of break-in, the mid range is "stiff" and doesn't move as fast as the music; rock LPs can have mid distortion at high volumes; just keep the music smooth and soft until the mid breaks loose and then go for it. You can set at most sensitive level MC settings after break-in.

  • Give it 30 hours to break in.....

...when i first bought it did not sound good - it was bright and thin sounding. After 15 hours or so it started to get better. Detailed but still a little "steely" sounding. Now at around 25-30 hours its transformed. Mids are detailed but no brightness and bass is solid and deep. Tracking is perfect from beginning to end. I expect it to sound better with more break in. For the price, hard to beat.

  • Hands down the best reasonably priced Low output moving coil stereo cartridge available today

The incredible little cart performs as well or better than any comparable MC cart under $1000. Although even at first play the sound is incredible, this and any other MC cart require a break in of at least 10-15 hours of play before you will experience it's completely developed sound. Matched with a Sony Ps-X600 Biotracer turntable, Denon PMA 520A integrated amp, Klipsch Cornwall speakers and playing a DBX encoded disc is HiFi Heaven!
