it is quiet because it just does not work at all. plug it in and turn it on and NOTHING happens. took it apart three times and reassembled it and still nothing. No more knocking the fan over!
I have had pedestal stand fans previously but they always ended up getting knocked over and would get broken as a result. This one is very sturdy and has a wide bottom that seems to be designed in a way that makes it difficult to accidentally knock over.
