These are four cheesy, lowest budget movies. I suspect the budgets for these movies were raised by junior high kids pooling their leftover lunch money. One movie features Basil Rathbone, the rest of the casts are unknowns. It’s a shame one of the cast members in War of the Planets never lived up to his name:Max Bonus. Honest. Max Bonus. The movie War of the Planets should be seen by every old sci-fi fan. That way, when an old film turns out to be pretty bad, you can always say to your buddy “Well, that was bad, but at least it was better than War of the Planets”. That alone is worth the four buck cost. The special effects weren’t special, but they were effective in creating dizziness from a constant shaking of my head in wonder. The Buster Crabbe spaceships in Flash Gordon looked like Star Wars special effects compared to these cinematic turkeys. Be aware these are two-sided DVDs with two movies on each side. The DVD itself is not marked in any way. To sum it all up, these are great “background movies”. These can be played with the audio off while playing cards, listening to King Crimson, or writing a term paper. The visuals make for brief, interesting distractions. At less than a buck a movie, you’re really getting your money’s worth. Read full review
