15 Big Ones was the much ballyhooed BB album that supposedly brought Brian back from his creative grave. Perhaps he should have stayed in bed another year. To be fair, there are a few gems on the record. "It's OK" and "Back Home" are among the best songs the band recorded in the '70s. Where the album withers is on the cover songs. You may never hear a more tepid version of "Blueberry Hill". The boys are in fine musical form, save Brian, who proved he still needed a mess o' help to stand alone. Much better is LOVE YOU. This is damn near a Brian Wilson solo record. And it's probably the most unconventional Beach Boys album of all. Songs about the solar system, Johnny Carson, and airplanes. Played mostly on moogs and various keyboards. All the songs are written by Brian, including one ("Ding Dang") co-written with Roger McGuinn, which is as far from "Eight Miles High" is as "Honkin' Down the Highway" is from "God Only Knows". It's a tough record to get used to, but once you do, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. The best Beach Boys album of the Me Decade. Thanks for reading.Read full review
"Love You" is a much better album compared to "15 Big Ones". I would not have bought the CD if it was only "15 Big Ones". The only two tracks that are really enjoyable off that one are, "Back Home", and "Susie Cincinannti". The rest of the album is filled with covers of songs originally made in the 50's, which did not have to be reworked by the Beach Boys. "Big Ones", is my second least favorite album by them in the 70's followed by "M.I.U.". "Love You" on the other hand is very refreshing. Although lyrically the songs are very simple, the songs are filled with great harmonies, beautiful arrangements, and solid production. The album starts off with a great track with, "Let Us Go on This Way", which has such lush Beach Boys Harmonies that fans know and love. "Mona" is simple, but very catchy and my personal favorite. "The Nite Was So Young" is a great track. Overall this is a great album.Read full review

Not their best but pretty darn good. Especially LOVE YOU. Brians voice is a little shaky at times but still quite enjoyable! A couple of tracks are really outstanding! Great CD get it.
