Larry McMurtry is a very good author and I have read a lot of his books and enjoyed them all. They also have turned into great movies.

I have ready all of the Lonesome Dove books. This was my final one. The Streets of Laredo is a great read. I wish Larry McMurty didn't quit here. He is a great writer. I would like to see a prequel on both Gus and Call. This story is about an aged Captain Call going after a young killer and train robber. Peaeye, Lorena, and other characters are in the story. If you watch the video, it is close. But, the movie cuts out several important parts. You would expect that with the approximate two hour limitation. I give this 3 stars because of the font size and the book. I gave up and went to Kindle and purchased the book for my iPad. Adjusted the fonts and read on. As with all Lonesome Dove books, this is worth reading. I just wish there were more. Enjoy.

This was a great book. One of the best western novels I have read. Language was moderate but not overly offensive. Some battle violence that could make some sensitive people squeamish. VERY LONG... had to take a break and read a couple other books before returning to finish this. But was glad I did. recommend to the western reader.
Book was barely acceptable. Pages were browned, very small print, and cover was worn.

This book has seen better days but I knew that when I bought it. All I needed as a reader copy.
