  • A great little AVR chip, perfect for battery-operated projects

These little 14-pin computers are great! 5 computers for under 10 bucks, easy to program with USBASP, Arduino compatible, PWM outputs (for controlling LEDs), small form factor, enough pins to work with and easy to power with 3xAA batteries. To me, this is the AVR sweet spot: The ATtiny85 is too limiting for general-use projects, the Arduino Uno boards and others of its family have too much overhead (eg the onboard FTDI chip, that big board size, the higher cost, inability to create battery-operated gizmos). This chip comes by default with an 8MHz rc oscillator divided down to 1MHz. That's plenty of speed, but in addition it's very easy to change to a full 8MHz which is a TON of speed in such a small device. If you need precision timing, you'll need a crystal but again the 20 MHz in the ATmega328p-based Uno is overkill for many purposes and takes too much power.

  • One of the best!!!

I love this little micro controller.. It works great!!, I've tested all that were sent and not a bit of a problem. I set them up with an Arduino.. Flawless. Update. These it works so well out of all 6 that I have purchased all have worked flawlessly. These are especially great for those smaller projects with very low power consumption where you only need a few ports. I highly recommend these and I am purchasing more.

  • Lots of power in a small package!

These Atmel AVR controllers are feature rich. The quality of your firmware dictates the performance. I was able to implement a software UART, measure a photodiode using the ADC, and output a 3 channel software PWM to drive an RGB LED, and only 32% flash was consumed. Using the on board oscillator, you save space and reduce the needed support components.

  • ATTiny is a small but powerful uP. Try one for yourself

I have used the Arduino Uno for several years. This ATTiny is a much smaller version of the uP used in the Uno but after a couple days working with it I have been very impressed. Try it for yourself. Great for small projects

  • A full blown microcomputer in an 8 pin DIP!

A full blown microcomputer in an 8 pin DIP! Perfect for small embedded projects. Program was written using Adruino IDE. Parts were programmed with usbtinyisp. The price was great.

  • Attiny84

It is a well known and good AVR, due to the dip14 package it is suitable for products with need of more pins than the similar Attiny85. Read the datasheet before using it, for beginners it is an absolute must to do!

  • Lot of music for small money

Great small chip capable of many things, when needed more pins, when ATtiny85 is too small. Easy to program even using Arduino.

  • Great quality chips

These work perfectly, and are of excellent quality! Don't be fooled by the price. They also arrived super quick!

  • Miniature control with Tiny84

A great little low voltage, low power controller. It will run on a 3V button cell. More I/O pins than the Tiny85
