Works!!! XPS 13 (9350) w/ Ubuntu 16.04
Was desperately scavenging for an adapter to connect my XPS 13 to a TV for the purpose of watching movies. Tried an off brand adapter found on Amazon that didn't work and was doing my best to stay away from Dell's $70 multipurpose adapter due to the price tag and mediocre reviews. I decided to go with this adapter and its been doing the job. No drivers, no BIOS tinkering, nada. Plugged it right in, went to my display settings, selected 'mirror this display' and I've finally been able to watch movies on a decent sized screen. Highly recommended. Also, on the website the adapter claims to be compatible with every Dell brand laptop BUT the XPS 13. This is not the case. If you are having issues, check your BIOS settings. There are options regarding the Thunderbolt port that may or may not have to be selected/unselected.
