I scrapped out the old gasket with a little screwdriver put adhesive on new gasket and installed it, waited a day for adhesive to dry and reinstalled valve and it worked without flaw. I'm very pleased. ! !

the gasket is really not meant to be replaced, i don't think. the replacement gasket is perfect, but the original gasket is glued in and must be cleared out by all means. it does not just pop out. the internet suggests replacing the valve all together. but with a bit of trouble, the gasket fits perfectly.

Used succesfully on SP0714T1. Hayward wanys you to replace the whole head. Not necessary. Just peel of old gasket and replace with this one. Old gasket is a pain to scrape off but worth the hassle (heat gun expidites the process). Clean the surface then superglue this one on.
