works great water repellant access cover NOT water proof
as purchased its waterproof. Used as access hatch on mud-boat hunt deck. with motor in reverse or boat beached on shore, hunt deck is underwater however seal is thin foam. I can see this foam gasket rotting in no time. so I replaced with rubber o ring better seal since it will be underwater and two 8" diameter can let in a lot of water in a short time
